Parish Life Director

The Parish Life Director helps to nurture all mission areas, with a focus on volunteer coordination and program leadership in the mission areas of Growing as Christians and Serving Others.

COS is a mid-sized congregation with a history of embracing progressive movements while remaining rooted in traditional Christian liturgy and theology. As COVID-19 wanes, the parish is re-engaging its robust community life. The Parish Life Director will be a leader in support of the current parish calendar and developing plans for congregational life in the future

Responsibilities include providing oversight of all aspects of Christian formation and spiritual development at COS and developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Christian formation leaders and volunteer leaders. Almost all ministries at COS are managed and run by competent volunteers. The Parish Life Director, though hopefully engaged and supportive of these endeavors, is not required to take on the direct supervision of programs or activities. The position is part-time (20 hrs per week) and there will be some evening commitments. Recognizing the balance of life and work for part-time employment, flexible hours can be worked out during the development of a contract. Music Director (Part Time)

Founded in 1929, Calvary is a small family-style congregation with a big heart. The average Sunday attendance at the 9 am service is 40, with a 8-member choir. Calvary is an intergenerational congregation seeking to grow our Sunday attendance through dynamic worship experiences. Calvary is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic team member to lead its music program, embracing the congregation’s desire for growth in diverse membership.

The Music Director will provide music leadership of every Sunday worship service using our electronic keyboard or organ, and other services including Holy Week, Christmas, ecumenical services and multi-racial/ethnic services. The Music Director will direct the adult choir in weekly rehearsals from September – May and recruit other members for the choir. The Music Director will choose the music for each Sunday service.
