St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, a parish in the Village of Glen Ellyn, seeks a part time parish administrator.  As the focal point of the church office, the parish administrator (PA) interacts with a variety of people: congregation, staff, volunteers, service providers, and the general public. The PA performs clerical responsibilities to support church operations and coordinates both print and online communications. The PA reports to the Rector, or to the Senior Warden in the absence of a Rector.

Substitute Nursery Teacher (On call, 3.5 hours per week)

Interim Christian Education Director (Part Time)

St. John’s Episcopal Church is a mid-size, vibrant parish located in Naperville, Illinois. The congregation values a faith experience that serves all ages, and we see Christian education and programming as an integral part of the worship and faith experience. St. John’s seeks an Interim Christian Education Director to oversee a variety of youth programs, including but not limited to Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, First Communion, Confirmation, worship involvement, and youth pastoral care. This role will work closely with relevant staff and volunteers.

St. John’s is in a transition period as our long-time rector announced her retirement, which was effective October 3rd. The vestry, wardens and appointed interim worship service director (WSD) are working in concert to ensure worship services, volunteer committees, and staffing continue to operate effectively in this transitional period. We seek an interim candidate to fill this position until a new rector is hired, hopefully within 9 to 12 months (this position will report to the Sr. Warden in the interim). Choir Director (Part Time)

We are seeking a Choir Director to lead our adult choir and help build and lead a small youth choir. St. John’s is in a transition period as our long-time rector announced her retirement, which was effective October 3. The church vestry, wardens and appointed interim worship service director (WSD) are working in concert to ensure worship services, volunteer committees and staffing continue to operate effectively in this transitional period.

The Choir Director will collaborate with the interim rector, organist, and if necessary, other church leadership when selecting music for worship; schedule rehearsals for all worship services where the choir is involved , including additional rehearsals held in preparation for special services throughout the church year; actively recruit new members to sing in the adult choir and provide a welcoming atmosphere; and develop a youth and children’s choir program. Sexton (Part Time)

Church of the Holy Family seeks a part-time Sexton 20-24 hours per week. The purpose of the Sexton is to keep Church of the Holy Family’s  building and grounds clean and orderly; perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs; set up church/rooms for use as needed. The Sexton will keep the Rector, Administrative Assistant, Junior Warden, and/or Building and Grounds Chair advised of any dangers or concerns regarding the condition and maintenance of buildings and grounds; follow all CDC Covid-19 regulations and directives; and keep and maintain a 30-day supply of regularly used cleaning and maintenance supplies. Director of Youth Ministries

Christ Church is a vibrant, growing parish located steps from Lake Michigan in Winnetka, Illinois. The congregation values a faith experience that is rooted in the deep traditions of Episcopal liturgy and relevant for life today. Christ Church is seeking an innovative and relational Director of Youth Ministries (DYM) to shepherd youth and their families toward this mission. The ideal candidate will have a heart for youth and their families, endeavoring to instill a life-long faith through fellowship, learning, and service.

The DYM will manage all aspects of youth ministry for grades 5-12 including but not limited to programs and events, outreach and service, worship involvement, volunteer stewardship, family and youth pastoral care, communications and visioning for the future. This role will work closely with the Director of Children’s Ministries as well as other relevant staff (communications, music, clergy, etc.) and volunteers.

Christ Church desires a DYM with a deep, sustaining personal faith who connects authentically with young people and endeavors to walk alongside them in spiritual growth. Experience in teaching or ministry is desired but not required; relational abilities and transferable skills are more important than previous job titles. A Bachelor’s Degree is required, and the position is open to lay, ordained or graduating seminarian candidates. View a complete job description here.
