The service of ordination and consecration for Bishop Paula Clark was held on Saturday, September 17 at 10:30 a.m. Central, at the Westin Chicago Lombard in Lombard, Illinois. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry served as the chief consecrator.

Bishop Clark was seated at St. James Cathedral on September 18 during the 11 am Eucharist. In this service, Dean Dominic Barrington welcomed the new bishop to the cathedral and installed her in the cathedra, the ceremonial seat of the bishop. The Consecration Planning Committee

The twelve-member Consecration Planning team, made up of volunteers from across the diocese, was led by co-chairs Garth Howe (St. Peter’s, Chicago) and Carol Moseley Braun (St. Paul & the Redeemer, Chicago). Members include Beth Petti (Trinity, Wheaton), Lin Goldstone All Saints, Moline), Martin Saldana (Church of the Redeemer, Elgin), Will White (Church of the Atonement, Chicago), Colin Collette (All Saints’, Chicago), Greg Milliken (Grace, New Lenox), Adam Spencer (St. Elisabeth, Glencoe), Jihan Murray-Smith (Church of the Holy Spirit, Lake Forest), Lisa Hackney-James (St. James Cathedral), and Timothy Beltran del Rio (Episcopal Charities). Rebecca Elfring-Roberts serves as the staff liaison to the committee.
