Daughters of the King Spring Assembly Welcomed New Members

Daughters of the King members from seven parishes gathered for the Spring Assembly on May 16.

The Diocesan Assembly of Chicagoland held its Spring Assembly on May 16 at St. John’s in Naperville. Hosted by the St. Johns’ Daughters of the King chapter, 35 members from seven parishes across the diocese began the day by celebrating the Eucharist. In keeping with the day’s theme, “Deepening our Friendships with God and Each Other,” St. John’s rector, the Rev. Jonathan Totty, then facilitated a discussion of spiritual friendships. Everyone enjoyed lunch and fellowship, and an offering was collected for Lifespring Center, a recovery and transitional living program in Aurora.

Notably, a group of women from St. Paul’s Church By-the-Lake in Chicago joined the assembly. These women are currently in discernment for the formation of a chapter at their church, having completed the inaugural three month online study. Everyone felt the presence of the Holy Spirit!
