Dear Campers and Families,

For the past several weeks, the Camp Chicago Leadership Team has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Based on current guidance from public health authorities, and after prayerful discernment we have decided to cancel our Camp Chicago sessions for 2020. The safety of our campers, staff, and their families is our greatest concern, and we would never want to take unnecessary risks with anyone’s health.

We know this is disappointing news, and we will all miss the joys of being together this summer. Our diverse Christian community at Camp Chicago creates an experience that many campers call the best week of the year, and our leadership team has already begun thinking of ways that we might bring some camp to your lives in the coming months. We will keep you informed as these plans develop.

Over the next few weeks we will refund registration payments. If you have not made a registration payment, no further action is required on your part, but I invite you to contact me with any questions. If your family is able, we ask you to consider making a donation to the Camp Chicago scholarship fund. Each year, more than one third of our campers attend camp with the help of a partial or full scholarship. Your gift can help a child in need of a scholarship become a camper in 2021.
