Courtney Reid to Become Associate Rector at All Saints’, Chicago

The Rev. Courtney Reid, who has served as the diocese’s director of operations since 2011, has announced that she will resign her position to become the associate rector at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Chicago on July 1.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve on the bishop’s staff for the past 10 years,” Reid said. “While I will miss the day-to-day interactions with my staff colleagues and our congregations, I am deeply excited to continue serving in our diocese as an associate rector working full time in parish ministry.”

Reid, who holds an M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, was ordained a priest at All Saints’ by Bishop Jeffrey Lee in February 2020. Since then, she has served as priest associate at All Saints’, where she and her family have been members since 1996. She previously served as Catholic campus minister at Aurora University, and worked for 15 years in leadership and administrative roles in HIV and LGBTQ non-profit service organizations in the Chicago area.

“I’m so excited for Courtney to be able to explore this new call she feels in her life and ministry,” the Rev. Anne Jolly, president of the diocese’s Standing Committee, said. “All Saints’ is incredibly lucky to have her in this new capacity. The diocese owes Courtney a tremendous debt of gratitude for her exemplary ministry on staff. Most recently, we could not have made it through the challenges and logistics of the transition during a pandemic without her leadership.”

Bishop-elect Paula Clark and Bishop Chilton Knudsen will consult with Reid, the Rev. Andrea Mysen, acting head of staff and director of ministries, and Crystal Plummer, director of networking, and with the Standing Committee, to determine how operations responsibilities will be handled upon Reid’s departure.
