UBE Celebration of Absalom Jones and Pauli Murray
June 2 at St. Thomas, Chicago
On June 2 at 3 pm, the Chicago Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians will host an evensong celebrating the lives of the Rev. Absalom Jones, the first African American priest in the Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Pauli Murray, the first African American female priest in the Episcopal Church.
The Rev. JoAnne Marie Terrell, associate professor of ethics and theology at Chicago Theological Seminary, will preach. The event is free and open to all; call 773-457-0623 for more information.
