The Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry Elected Bishop of Michigan: A Message from Bishop Lee

Bishop LeeDear Friends:
I am delighted to announce that, earlier today, the Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry, rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Chicago, was elected bishop of Michigan on the fifth ballot.
Since the day I arrived in Chicago, Bonnie has been a friend, a partner in ministry, and a catalyst for energetic, faithful ministry at All Saints’ and across our diocese and the Episcopal Church. Her love of laughter, passion for justice, and extravagant belief in the power of Jesus Christ to change lives are a source of inspiration to me and countless others around the church. I rejoice with the people of Michigan, and I can say with certainty that the next chapter of their common life will be anything but dull!
We will miss Bonnie’s wise leadership at All Saints’, on the Commission on Ministry, and in many other parts of our diocesan life, even as we celebrate this opportunity for new ministry just across her beloved Lake Michigan. Pending the consent of the wider church, Bonnie will be ordained and consecrated bishop on February 8, 2020. Before then, we will find time for a celebration worthy of the occasion.
Faithfully,
+Jeff
